The AC/GC boys cross country team wins the class 1a state championship in Fort Dodge yesterday.

Senior Trevin Suhr lead the way for the chargers finishing the race in fourth place running a time of 16 minutes and 38 seconds. Suhr tells Raccoon Valley Radio about when he and his team knew they were state champions.

“Both of my coaches came up to me and gave us a hug and said congratulations your state champs”

Andrew Mahaffey ran a time of 17 minutes and 19 seconds and finished 17th and Justin Reinhart and Kaden Thompson both finished in the top 25.

AC/GC girls team cross country team finished as a team in 15th place with freshman Ava Campbell leading the pack with a placement of 27th and a time of 21 minutes and 7 seconds.  Hayden Coffman placed in the top 50 running a time of 21 minutes and 39 seconds. Coffman and Campbell got a chance to discuss how the team preformed.

“I feel like they didn’t go as planned but I’m still our team the way it is we have come along way from the beginning of the season”

“Yeah I feel like we came out there and ran our hardest.”
