For the Panorama Panthers volleyball team, this season ended with them having an overall record of 7-21 on the season and being knocked out in the Class 2A Region 3 quarterfinal round.
The Panthers volleyball team did improve on their win total from last year where they finished with an overall record of 6-12 in a season that was different due to the coronavirus pandemic. Head coach Joanne Sandage says this year positive strides were made throughout the season.
“Our blocking has just been really well this year that was a big positive. Tyme Boettcher ended up leading the conference in blocks, she had 77 total and Jaidyn ended up in third. Those two together just make a big block so that was a positive. Grace Webner was tenth, Angel Poldberg ninth so as far as positives for our team, I’m looking at that.”
Sandage says other notable performances this season included Mollie Monthei ending the season well placed in the conference in assists for the Panthers. Sandage says the efficiency of the blocking throughout the season was a good surprise.
“Being able to block is just you have to have that court sense. They gained that this year, so yeah the blocking part of it did surprise me a little bit, I knew we would be better but I didn’t realize we would increase that much with four actual players.”
While the volleyball season for the Panthers is over they will look to come back next season and get back out on the court.
