Dallas Center-Grimes sent both boys and girls teams to Fort Dodge Friday to compete in the Class 3A state cross country meet with good results.
DCG boys took the day at the state meet with senior runner Aidan Ramsey being crowned as the state champion coming in first overall with a time of 15:36. The DCG boys team also placed first overall by two points to be the state champion team to earn them the three-peat as a team state champion and Ramsey won his first individual state champion finish.
For the DCG boys other runners included Tate McDermott who placed tenth with a 16:28, Jacob Ewers placed 19th with a 16:49, Owen Pries placed 22nd with a 16:59, Ben Every placed 24th with a competitive 16:59 just slightly slower, AJ Angus placed 28th with a 17:05 and Jack Every placed 63rd with a 17:43.
DCG sent their girls team up to the state meet and as a whole they turned in good times earning them third place as a team at the meet. The team was made up of Maddy Stevens who ran a 20:02 good enough for 23rd, Hannah Little with a 20:09 which placed her 32nd, Meredith McDermott ran a 20:22 which placed her in 38th one spot ahead of her teammate Abbey Angus who turned in a 20:23 for 39th.
Also, for DCG Dakota Newcomb ran a 20:40 placing her in 53rd, Vanessa Bickford placed 59th with a 20:50 and Skyler Blessman rounded out DCG runners in 100th place with a 21:34.
The DCG cross country teams headed to Fort Dodge Friday to compete against the best cross country runners in Class 3A with good results on both the boys and girls side of the sport.
