With Halloween weekend approaching the Stuart Police Department is stressing residents to be visible at night.

Stuart Police Officer Katie Guisinger says there are low cost items that a trick or treater can use to keep them safe.

“They make trick or treat bags, anymore that are reflective or you know have glow in the dark on it and then things they can buy locally at Dollar General would be glow sticks they can wear the bracelets or the necklaces.”

Guisinger says that trick or treaters should always be with an adult guardian or if their older with a peer. She states that drivers must be aware of children in the streets and ready to stop at any moment.
