A choir student from Guthrie County was recently selected for All-State from last Saturday’s audition.
Tommy Bates, a vocalist from Adair-Casey Guthrie Center High School was chosen for Iowa High School Music Association All-State Festival. Adair-Casey Guthrie Center High School Choir teacher Kelsey Dinkla tells Raccoon Valley Radio the process that went into the auditions.
“All seven of my vocalist put in a tremendous amount time preparing for All-State auditions. You know its kind of the luck of the draw, you get lucky that day and your in the right place at the right time.”
Bates has qualified for All-State three times. In addition, Andrew Mahaffey, a vocalist from Adair-Casey Guthrie Center, was able to earn a recall from last Saturdays auditions.
