The Greene County High School Choir Department saw lots of students do well this past weekend for a festival coming up next month.

The Iowa High School Music Association All State Music Festival auditions were held this past weekend, and for Greene County High School, five choir students qualified. Those students included Kierstin Purdie, Brianna Blasnitz, Olivia Hoyt, Ava Schilling and Gavin VanderLinden. Daniele Madsen and Wyatt Villebro were recalled and Madsen was then selected as first alternate for alto. 

According to IHSMA, there were 1,745 instrumental students and 2,245 vocalists tried out for all state. 

The All State Music Festival will be held from November 18th-20th, with the concert to take place on November 20th at 7:30pm at Hilton Coliseum on the Iowa State University campus.
