A reminder about a special event being held this weekend will explore various outdoor parks from the comfort of your own vehicle.
The Anna Rea, 1930 Ford Model A group will be making trips to two area parks, including Spring Lake Park in Greene County today and Springbrook State Park tomorrow in Guthrie County. There will be some vintage and classic vehicles meeting at Thomas Jefferson Gardens in Jefferson at 3:30pm this afternoon, before they head out to Spring Lake Park. They will also meet tomorrow at 3:30pm at Guthrie County State Bank in Guthrie Center and will head to Springbrook State Park by 4pm. Anyone interested can join them on either or both trips to those parks as there will be a tour of the park and a presentation by park staff, all without having to leave your vehicle.
Leading the tour will be Kevin Szcodronski of Ankeney and Ann Raisch of Eldora. They will be driving the original 1930 Ford Model A that is named Anna Rea, which visited all of the state parks.
There are three tour loops with 36 parks that are happening this month and the other four loops with 58 parks will be done next year. Click the link below for more information.
