
It’s the postseason for the Greene County High School football team. Coach Caden Duncan’s Rams host Roland-Story (Story City) tonight at Linduska Field in Jefferson in a round of 32 contest. The winner moves on to the round of 16 on Oct. 29 against an opponent to be determined.
The Rams are 7-1 overall, winners of seven games in a row, and are ranked as high as third in the Class 2A polls. R-S is 3-5 overall and has dropped their last three games, all to playoff teams. Greene County averages 47 points per game while allowing less than six, while the Norsemen score an average of 25 per game and give up 37 per contest.
Fans are reminded all tickets must be purchased online. No cash transactions are allowed for any postseason games by the Iowa High School Athletic Association. Go to the Association website and click Tickets for further instructions. Activities Director Todd Gordon told Raccoon Valley Radio QR codes will be posted at Linduska Field for those who haven’t purchased tickets in advance to do so at the gate with a smartphone.
