The Panorama Panthers boys and girls cross country teams participated in the state qualifying meet out at the Lake Panorama Par 3 course Thursday for the chance to participate in the state meet in Fort Dodge but were unable to qualify any runners.
The Panthers fielded incomplete teams for both the boys and girls cross country teams so they were unable to compete to qualify as a team but the Panthers had four individual runners on the girls side and two individual runners on the boys side.
For the girls side senior runner Payton Beckman finished five spots out of the top 15 running a 22:37 which placed her 20th overall. For senior runner Leah Fett she turned in a time of 24:16 which placed her in 37th, junior Alice Schann ran a 25:44 which placed her 49th overall and rounding out the girls team was Avery Bahrenfuss who ran a 26:12 placing her in 60th place.
For the boys side only two runners competed at the state qualifying meet in senior runner Avery Norman who ran a 20:49 placing him 44th overall and freshman Laine Christe who ran a 25:06 which place him in 88th place overall.
While the Panthers were unable to advance any runners on to the state meet in Fort Dodge later this month head cross country coach Greg Thompson says four of the six runners ran season best times and two of those times were lifetime bests for the runners.
While the cross country season ended for the Panorama Panthers cross country teams they will be looking to come back next year.
