Earlier this year the Perry City Council discussed what should be done for fireworks ordinances after receiving concerns from citizens and the work is still ongoing.
City Administrator Sven Peterson says staff are still working on sample language as well as other research needed to decide what should be the next steps for the fireworks ordinance in Perry.
“We’ve gotten a pretty good deal of direction and insight from city council so now it’s up to staff to put some things together to bring back to city council so that they can consider what they are doing. Hopefully we get that done hopefully by the end of this year to bring something back to council for them to consider.”
Discussions began on what to do with the fireworks ordinance in Perry earlier this year after the city council and city staff received numerous complaints and concerns from citizens regarding the use of fireworks over the most recent Fourth of July holiday.
