With the weather slowly changing in Guthrie County, the secondary roads department is preparing to change to winter operations.

County Engineer Josh Sebern says after Halloween is the target date to switch to winter duties but he says they are prepared at any time in case winter weather arises. He explains the process they go through to get ready for winter.

“We got all the trucks mechanically in shape and tires, brakes, electronics, make sure everything is ready to go and in addition we will get the winter equipment out and get it hooked up and operational.”

Sebern adds that they have a healthy supply of salt for this upcoming winter.
