Dallas Center – Grimes volleyball had first round action on Tuesday night against the Perry Bluejays in Class 4A District 2 action, and they were able to win with ease as they won 3 sets to none to move on to the next round. The final numbers were 25-15, 25-15, and 25-7.. DCG moves to 16-21 on the season and Perry concludes their season with a 11-25 record.
Mustang volleyball was able to find their groove early against the visitor, and though Perry showed some solid spurts of volleyball throughout the evening, the Mustangs were able to rely on their experience to take the match.
Junior Haily Leinbach was able to lead the Mustangs in kills on the night with 10, and senior Katie Christensen was able to chip in with nine as well. Senior Kenna Jackson was able to lead the Mustangs in assists with 36 on the night.
DCG will be taking on the North Polk high school in semifinal action tomorrow when they head over to North Polk High School, looking to pull off the upset against a good team.
