With the deadline passing to register in the city-school elections on November 2nd, there are some contested races for Stuart City Council and West Central Valley School Board.

The Stuart City Council has five newcomer candidates for three open positions including David Doely, Kevin Guisinger, Cory Kirkpatrick, James Morgan and Ryan Morrison. Additionally, the incumbent Dick Cook is running unopposed for mayor. 

As for school board election, there are four candidates for two West Central Valley School Board positions, including district four with incumbent Jen Clemetson and newcomer Charles Robert Miller and district seven includes incumbent Laura Weber and challenger Donny Teague.
