The Panorama Panthers Football Team headed to Truro Friday night to take on the Interstate 35 Roadrunners hoping to come up with a victory but fell short.
The Panthers were heading into Friday night’s matchup against the Roadrunners looking to come away with a victory after starting their season 1-3 and the Roadrunners came into Friday’s matchup with an overall record of 2-2 on the season.
The Roadrunners were the first to put points up on the board and had a strong first quarter being able to put up 20 points during the first frame. The Panthers were looking to score some points of their own and were able to come up with 6 during the second quarter to go into halftime down 14 with a score of 20-6.
The second half of Friday’s game saw the Roadrunners put up an additional 6 points in the third quarter which would prove to be enough as they would not score again during the game. The Panthers mounted a comeback scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter but fell short losing by a score of 26-20.
The Panthers are now 1-4 on the season and 0-2 so far this season in conference play as the Roadrunners picked up the win Friday night and improved to 3-2 on the season. The Panthers will look to bounce back next week when they take on the West Central Valley Wildcats who are 2-3 on the season after losing Friday night to the Van Meter Bulldogs 70-0.
For the rest of conference play this year the Panthers will take on the West Central Valley Wildcats, Nodaway Valley Wolverines and AC/GC Chargers.
The Panorama Panthers Football Team will look to try and get their first win in conference play next week when they take on the West Central Valley Wildcats at home for their homecoming game beginning at 7 p.m. October 1st in Panora.
