Following guidance from President Joe Biden to mandate all health care workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19, Guthrie County Hospital has not mandated their staff to get vaccinated.

Guthrie County Employee Health Infection Coordinator Sandy Atkinson says that right now they are in a holding period and waiting for more guidance. 

“We have met with out (Hospital) Board (of Trustees and) we have talked to our providers, we have talked to our staff, and right now we are just holding, status quo if you will, (and) not mandating.”

Atkinson states that if they mandate the vaccine they may lose some staff but the majority of the staff is already vaccinated.
