An annual event will take place this weekend which will give people the opportunity at an inside look at art.

The Art Harvest Tour will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and will feature artists and their art studios during various stops along a 90-mile loop. Art on the Prairie Board Member Mary Rose Nichols encourages everyone to check out the two-day event.

“It’s a great chance to get out in the beautiful fall countryside, take a drive either Saturday or Sunday or both and see art in the making. So, that’s what’s unique about this and what I love about it is that you not only can see the products that the artists create but you can often see them in the process of making them or at least see where they have created them in their studio.”

Board Member Lynsi Pasutti says while people will get to be out and about in places such as Perry and Dallas Center and see artists at work, the Art Harvest Tour will let people experience how specific art is created and where it’s made.

“The big thing of this is that it’s a studio tour, a gallery tour so it’s not just an art show where there are booths on the street or in buildings and they are confined to the ten by ten space. You’re really getting to see the behind the scenes and where things are created.”
