For a local non-profit organization that aims to prevent and help families cope with infant and young child loss, an event to raise money is coming up soon. 

John. D. Gomke Charity is hosting the 12th Annual John’s Baby Steps 5K Run, Memory Walk and Kids Fun Run will begin at 8:15 a.m. October 2nd with an Angel Presentation followed by the shotgun start of the 5K race at 8:30 a.m. from Kinnick-Feller Riverside Park in Adel. 

Early registration is through  September 25th for $25 and includes a t-shirt and after the 25th, registration goes up to $30, which a t-shirt is not guaranteed.  For students ages 13 to 18, registration is $15 and those ages 12 and under are free. 

The John D. Gomke Charity is a non-profit organization that aims to help people confidently perform CPR on young children and infants in an emergency situation by offering first aid and CPR classes to the community as well as donating defibrillators to schools and updating infant pads and batteries every two years and adult pads every five years.
