Historically, the ADM and Winterset rivalry game has featured some hard hits, tension, and low scoring affairs. Two of those things came true on Friday night, but the low scoring was not one of them, as Winterset was able to put up some fireworks offensively in a 60-36 victory.
Winterset was able to score nine touchdowns on the night, six of them coming from Dawson Forgy, who recorded 23 carries for 400 yards and 6 touchdowns as well, putting up video game numbers. Four of those touchdowns came from 73, 65, 68, and 80 yards, as Forgy was able to run wild for the majority of the night.
ADM offensively was very good throughout the evening, as senior quarterback Matt Dufoe was able to record 4 more touchdowns on the season, three on the ground and one through the air. He had more that 200 all purpose yards, and sophomore running Brevin Doll was able to put up 113 rushing yards on the night along with a touchdown.
ADM was able to take a 15-6 lead midday through the second quarter after Dufoe scored his second touchdown of the night, but Forgy was able to get a long rushing touchdown, then Winterset was able to grab a pair of scores before half after ADM had two bad snaps on punts that lead to scores, with the Huskies taking a 28-15 lead at half.
ADM couldn’t stop Forgy and the Huskies rushing touchdowns on the night, as they were able to keep a double figure lead the rest of the way to pick up the second straight win in the series.
Tiger football will close out non-district play at 3-1 as Winterset improves to 3-1. ADM will start 3A district 6 play next week when they take on Atlantic in Adel for homecoming.
