The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night in regular session.

The Council approved several financial policies as presented. Some of the additional funds that policies established include an emergency, discretionary, five-year capital improvement, economic development and a building reserve fund. City Administrator Mike Palmer said these funds will help to better protect the city against issues such as a derecho storm and provides better information for issuing bonds.

The Council also approved a $145,000 grant application for a facade improvement project with Art on the Fly on the downtown square. The three existing exterior sides of the building qualify for the grant.
