This weekend, one Greene County church is giving everyone the opportunity to learn about different religious missions from across the world.
Abundant Life Church in Jefferson is hosting a World Missions Day on Saturday from 10am-noon. Co-organizer Sean Sebourn says the event will feature eight booths and cover nine missions that the church supports, including England, Honduras, Italy, Thailand and many others. Some booths will have local ties, such as Sara Nazar in Honduras, who is Bill and Donna Sutton’s daughter and Marco and Sara Vantaggio in Italy, and Sara is the daughter of Gary and Judy VonAhsen.
Sebourn says every 15 minutes there will be a speaker talking about their experiences with a mission in another country. He points out anyone in the public can attend the free event, with the goal of bringing an awareness of missionary work that can be supported at the local level. No pre-registration is necessary.
