A private investment group in Jefferson has taken another step in restoring a restaurant business in the downtown area.
The all-female Why Not Us group has selected Westbrooke Construction of Urbandale as the contractor for the renovations to its recently purchased Centennial building from the City of Jefferson at 100 East State Street, the former Angie’s Tea Garden. Westbrooke was one of three contractors that interviewed for the project with a sub-committee from Why Not Us and were assisted by the project architects with Pete Franks of Glenwood and Chris Deal of Jefferson.
Westbrooke has done other projects in and around Jefferson. They were the contractor for the roof replacement project on the same building when it was owned by the City. They also renovated Greater Life Chiropractic in Jefferson, rebuilt the catholic church in Stuart and restored the Perry Chief building in Perry.
Why Not Us is also working to finalize the restaurateur that will be the operator of the main floor restaurant.
