The Raccoon River Watershed Association is hosting a free event in Jefferson tomorrow.

A water monitoring demonstration will be led by Izaak Walton League with Save Our Streams program. SOS is the only nationwide program that trains volunteers to protect waterways from pollution. Iowa’s certified water quality trainer Susan Heathcoat who will show how to collect water quality data. The event will take place at Squirrel Hollow Park from 10am-1:30pm tomorrow. RRWA is looking for volunteers who want to be trained and certified as community stream monitors in Greene County.

Attendees are to meet at 10am at the park’s boat ramp access. It is a come and go event that is free and open to the public.
