The latest precipitation in the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area caused some relief to crops but also caused damage.

Corn has reached 97 percent in or beyond the dough stage, 77 percent has reached the dent stage or beyond and 14 percent has reached maturity. Iowa’s corn condition is rated 60 percent good to excellent. Soybeans have reached 40 percent coloring or beyond, soybeans dropping leaves reached 10 percent and rated 61 percent good to excellent.
Crop damage was reported in the northeast and west central parts of the state due to strong winds and heavy rain.
