The Dallas County Board of Supervisors approved a 28E agreement with the City of Dexter to provide law enforcement services at their regular meeting Tuesday.
The Board approved the agreement which will allow for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office to provide law enforcement services to the City of Dexter for the next year.
Also, the Board approved a time and date of 9:30 a.m. September 21st for a public hearing on Polk County supplemental foods memorandum of understanding and approved the kitchen maintenance agreement for the Law Enforcement Center.
Additionally, the Board approved the purchase of two tractors in the amount of $296,010 for the roads department, a Living Roadway Trust Fund Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management grant in the amount of $12,270 and a bridge inspection consultant contract.
The Board also approved the City of Storm Lake Federal Emergency Management Agency funding application letter of support, National Voter Registration Month proclamation for September, fire suppression system equipment inspection and window cleaning proposals and contracts for Dallas County facilities.
Finally, the Board discussed the potential of terminating a development agreement for tax increment financing and urban renewal area with Tyson Fresh Meats after the Iowa Economic Development Authority terminated its contract with Tyson when it failed to maintain the High Quality Jobs program during a recent project. The Board determined a consensus to continue working with Tyson, but no action was taken as they will continue to look at a revised contract.
