Another Greene County business has stepped up and supported the financial efforts of a child care facility in Jefferson.
Midland Power Cooperative, along with its partners, including Central Iowa Power Cooperative in Cedar Rapids, Corn Belt Power Cooperative in Humboldt, Basin Electric in Bismark, North Dakota, and CoBank in Denver, Colorado donated a total of $18,500 to the Greene County Early Learning Center. The donation is a part of the “Growth Happens Here” campaign for a new $2.1 million facility that will be located adjacent to its current facility at 306 South Vine Street.
A groundbreaking ceremony was recently held and construction is underway for the 9,484-square foot facility, which will also increase the capacity of the early learning center from 94 to 150 children. The non-profit organization is still accepting donations. Email them at growhappenshere@gmail.com.
