U.S. Congresswoman Cindy Axne
With the final departure of U.S. military troops from Afghanistan, one of Iowa’s U.S. House of Representatives is commenting on the 20 year long war.
Iowa’s Third Congressional District Representative Cindy Axne declares the war in Afghanistan over after 20 years and praises President Joe Biden for meeting his August 31st deadline to evacuate the military troops.
Axne tells Raccoon Valley Radio the military’s efforts to get Americans out of Afghanistan should be praised and no one should be left behind.
“But we are not leaving folks behind for every other American or ally that wants to leave, you know we’re doing everything in our power to make that happen.”
Axne explains she has strong condolences for the 13 soldiers lost on August 26th at the Kabul Airport.
