An annual event returns to the Jefferson Municipal Pool on the last day it is open for the year, and the summers aren’t your typical clientele.
The Animal Protection and Education (APE) Charity in Paton is hosting Doggie Day on Saturday from 1-3pm. Organizer Linn Cipperley-Price tells Raccoon Valley Radio dogs and their owners are invited to swim during those two hours for a free-will donation. She adds there will also be doggie-related items given away, including toys, balls and frisbees. Following this event, the pool will be closed for the rest of the year.
Until then, only lap swim is available for humans to utilize the pool from 11:30am-1pm through Friday.
