Dallas Center – Grimes cross country will be hosting a cross country meet today at the middle school, with schools all over central Iowa competing in the event. Including DCG, there are projected to be 13 teams racing in the girls side and 12 on the boys side, as excellent schools will be competing from different classes as well.

This will be the first race of the season for either boys and girls team, after their race in Ames last week was postponed due to weather. The boys team comes in as the number 1 ranked team and the girls as the number 2 team, with both teams in 3A.

DCG will be projected as one of the favorite in the race, as the course traditionally runs quick, so will see if a course advantage will give DCG a leg up on the competition.

The event will begin at 4:30 today, as runners will be looking to put together a solid performance in their first race of the season.
