Greene County ISU Extension is offering a new class that was born out of the global pandemic.

Extension Director Lori Mannel says the Remote Work Certificate Course is a collaboration between ISU and Utah State University that is an online training class for adults who are transitioning to working remotely, either temporarily or permanently. ISU Extension Vice President Dr. John Lawrence believes this will be of benefit for several people.

“Many of us were forced into remote work. Some of us enjoy it, some of our employers recognize some value in it. But how do you do that well? We’re actually offering a formal educational program to go through how to be a certified remote worker. Whether that this where you would normally commute for your job, or maybe your job is now in Chicago, or Atlanta, or California, but you live here in Greene County.”

The program includes 30 hours of online training, along with nine self-paced modules and four interactive workshops. The cost is $249 and the program begins September 7th, with a September 1st registration deadline by 1pm. Contact the Greene County Extension office at 515-386-2138 or stop by to sign up.
