The Panorama Panthers Volleyball Team began their season yesterday against the Interstate 35 Roadrunners and came away with a victory.

While the Panthers are replacing production from the graduating class of 2021 they won all three matches against the Roadrunners Tuesday. The Panthers took the first match 25-20, the second match 25-11 and the third match 25-21 to complete the sweep of the Roadrunners and winning their first game of the season.

The Panthers got production from sophomore Jaidyn Sellers who had seven kills and the team also got good production from serves throughout the matches with Jazmyn Sellers going 14 for 16 on serves. Head Volleyball Coach Joanne Sandage says the team performed well in serving effectively throughout the game and the girls played well as a team.

Sandage says there are areas for improvement including being more aggressive on the offensive side. Despite a gym that was not air conditioned the Panthers came out on top.

After winning their first game to improve to 1-0 on the season the Panthers will take action again when the Earlham Cardinals come to Panora for a game at 7 p.m. Thursday.
