Stricter visitor requirements have been re-implemented at Greene County Medical Center Long Term Care.
Long Term Care has continuously adhered to the governing long term care body of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services with their COVID-19 guidelines. Due to a positive case of COVID-19 being found in long term care on August 20th, stricter visitor requirements are now in place, along with the medical center quickly instituting its mitigation efforts.
Until further notice, all indoor and in-room visits are temporarily prohibited, with exception of compassionate care or visits required by federal disability rights law. Outdoor patio visits will continue with proper visitor screening, wearing personal protective equipment, observing proper social distancing for any resident not in quarantine or isolation. Compassionate care visits will be person-centered and case by case, along with that individual must wear a mask at all times and be socially distanced regardless of vaccination status. Visitors are encouraged to use technology for visits at this time.
Further CMS guidelines include 14 days without a new positive case among residents and staff and Greene County’s positivity rate must also be below ten-percent to return to open visitation.
