If your family has an interest in meeting public safety officials and their equipment they use, there is an event ongoing today in Perry. 

The Perry Public Safety Day event begins at 10 a.m. today and will run until 1 p.m. in the Perry Hy-Vee parking lot. There are presentations by the Perry Police and Volunteer Fire Departments, Public Works and Emergency Medical Services. 

Also, organizers say Life Flight may make an appearance if they are available. The event is free for everyone to attend and families are encouraged to bring their cameras and take pictures in a fire truck and see the various public safety presentations.
