The Panorama Panthers Football Team traveled to Ogden Friday for a scrimmage to get their first taste of action against another team this year and there were encouraging signs on both sides of the ball.

The Panthers will field a team that looks different than the 6-3 team from last year after losing seniors to the class of 2021. Head Football Coach Mike Kauzlarich says the offense played a clean game during the scrimmage with no turnovers and the defense created multiple turnovers including an interception which was returned for a touchdown.

Kauzlarich says the ongoing quarterback competition continued during the scrimmage Friday and for the first three games of the season, which are non-conference games, both quarterbacks will get playing time. While the offense struggled to move the chains at points throughout the scrimmage with issues including wide receivers dropping passes Kauzlarich says while fielding their best guys they should be able to compete with anyone.

The Panthers will begin their quest for the playoffs when the Tigerhawks of Colfax-Mingo come to town on August 27th for a non-conference game.
