Greene County sophomore Kaylee Stalder played enough varsity volleyball last year to earn a letter. She’s one of five returning letter winners for Coach Chris Heisterkamp. Stalder talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about playing varsity as a freshman. “At first I was really nervous as an incoming freshman on this new, big, varsity squad. Then, the girls all welcomed me and I felt really appreciated, then I got in the flow of things and I left it went pretty well for me.”

As a sophomore, Stalder sees her role different than in 2020. “This year we have a bunch of girls that are really passionate about playing, which makes it go a lot easier. As a sophomore, even though I’m not an upper classman, I kind of guide these girls in and make sure they feel appreciated, just like I did last year.”

The Rams have hosted a pair of scrimmages this week as a way of preparing for the Aug. 24 season opening night in Maxwell vs. Collins-Maxwell and Glidden-Ralston.
