The Perry City Council approved a fireworks permit at their regular meeting Monday.
The Council approved a fireworks permit for J and M Displays for the Perry Community School District to have a fireworks display at the halftime of the homecoming football game on September 10th. Also, the Council approved tax abatement applications for residential construction completed in 2021 in Perry.
Finally, the Council heard a discussion relating to the sign ordinance revision work relating to the City’s sign ordinances being under individual zoning districts and bringing all the ordinances into one section as well as updates to the sign ordinance for the Arterial Commercial district and updating signage to monument signs and eliminate pole signs. The presentation was given by Brian Amaya who has been an intern with the City for the summer.
