The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have recently released new guidance on masks.
The CDC states that if you’re fully vaccinated in an indoor public place, in an area with high or substantial COVID-19 transmission rate, it is recommended to wear a mask. Guthrie County Health Services Director Jotham Arber tells Raccoon Valley Radio the reason behind the CDC guidance.
“The vaccines are not 100 percent. They are very good, but with the Delta variant we have seen it decrease a little bit so we’re about 88 percent (protection) so there is probably a 12 percent chance that if you are vaccinated and around a high viral load you could potentially get infected.”
The Guthrie County Health Services Department is releasing zip code transmission data so many can see where the high risk areas are. For more information visit our link:
