With the potential of normalcy returning to school districts, students going to the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District later this month will have one main focus.
ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe says when students arrive back to school on August 30th emphasis will be placed on getting back to teaching and learning. Dufoe says there are still educational needs from the impact of the school closure from spring of 2020.
“We do feel that we are going to feel the impact of the school closure that happened in the spring of 2020 and also we are going to continue to feel the impact of the number of students who were quarantined last year and had to go into remote learning, or those students who were in remote learning because of concerns about COVID.”
Dufoe tells Raccoon Valley Radio this had led to the school district shaping its Return To Learn Plan around focusing on teaching and learning. Dufoe explains a few ways they aim to do this.
“Going back to pre-COVID operations where we can group students effectively. We can move students around like we need to flexibly. It’s what we are looking forward to returning to.”
The official first day of school for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District is slated for August 30th.
