The public will have its first look at the 2021 Greene County football team when the Rams host Nevada in a scrimmage Friday, Aug. 20 at Linduska Field in Jefferson. JVR (mostly freshmen) will start at 5:30 p.m. with each team getting 20 offensive plays. The JV is next, again with 20 offensive plays for both teams.
Greene County head coach Caden Duncan said the varsity scrimmage will consist of game-like conditions for two 20-minute halves. “The clock will stay running, but it will be just like a game with officials, the chains being moved, touchdowns being scored, special teams, just like a game. Nevada is pretty experienced too, so the coaches decided we wanted the scrimmage to be as game-like as possible. We’re excited to host it, and really looking forward to having all three levels of our program (JVR, JV, Varsity) get reps.
Admission on Friday is a sports drink of some kind.
