The Mary J. Barnett Public Library recently finished their Summer Reading Program that lasted ten weeks.
Mary J. Barnett Library Aid Cass Fronapsel says that 30 kids participated and they read 52 hours. She said there were a number of activities that happened that include an author visit, cartoonist and a Blank Park Zoo visit. Fronapsel told Raccoon Valley Radio that one new activity this year was the creation station.
“Where we had different stations set up which is little five ten minute art projects that the kids could do to take home.”
Fronapsel says that the Summer Reading Program keeps kids reading during the summer and off of their parents iPads.
