A reminder to the public that tomorrow night there will be an informational meeting about a major road project in the City of Jefferson.

The goal of the meeting is to share conceptual drawings and other information about improving West Lincoln Way. City Administrator Mike Palmer says the road from Highway 4 to Grimmell Road is an aging infrastructure.

“Essentially it’s going to be to remove all of the existing street that’s there from Highway 4, or it’s Elm Street, to all the way to Grimmell (Road). It’s one of the main thorough fareways on the old Lincoln Highway coming through town. It needs new curb and gutter and it needs to be repaved.”    

The public meeting will be held tomorrow night at Trinity Lutheran Church from 5-7pm. Palmer adds, the project won’t be done for a while, but plans are similar to the process of how the City executed the East Lincoln Way project.
