Sunday, August 8th

12:59am: An officer and a deputy responded to a Fire Alarm Activation at the Courthouse, located at 114 North Chestnut Street. After searching the building, it was determined to be a False Alarm.

12:01pm: An officer arrested Alicia Hawkins, 31 of Jefferson during a Traffic Stop in the 1600 Block of N Ave. Hawkins had outstanding Jefferson PD Arrest Warrants for, “Possession of Controlled Substance – Serious and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple. The officer issued Royce Gonnelly of Jefferson a citation for, “Failure to Have a Valid Driver’s License.”

1:46pm: Avis Keasey reported finding damage to her vehicle after parking at 106 West Washington Street. She had also been shopping in Spencer before coming to Jefferson. The officer was unable to determine where the minor damage had occurred.

3:41pm: An officer witnessed a couple in the yard at 600 West Lincoln Way Street, that he knew had an Active Protective Order in place stopping contact between the two. The officer arrested Carly Hubby, 42 of Jefferson and James Harris, 34 of Jefferson for, “Violation of Protective Order – Simple.” Hubby also had outstanding Boone County Arrest Warrants.

7:43pm: Mark Easterday reported hearing gunshots near the RR Tracks on North Grimmell Road. The officer spoke to a group of subjects at 1007 West Wall Street, who advised they had lit some fireworks. The officer warned them about the fireworks being against City Ordinances.

10:02pm: An officer was requested to assist a Deputy in the 1000 Block of Main Street East in Grand Junction with a report of a subject attempting to break into a residence. The officer handled the investigation.

10:31pm: Jeff Niles reported a male subject walking on the road in the 600 Block of hwy. 30 East. The officer spoke to the subject, who was walking to Grand Junction.
