Today is the final day to get certain back to school items without paying sales tax.

The sales tax holiday continues today for people to go out and purchase clothes and shoes and not pay sales tax or local option sales tax on items priced at $100 or less. The Iowa Department of Revenue holds the sales tax holiday as a way to help people save money on back to school shopping.

The sales tax free weekend continues until midnight tonight and all businesses that are open and sell qualifying items are required to take part in the promotion.

For a list of what is eligible and what isn’t for the holiday along with more information you can go here.
