2:24pm: Lesha Jabaar of Jefferson reported a careless driver on Highway 30 eastbound toward Jefferson from the Glidden area. The vehicle was described as a gray Ford Fushion. The Officer located a similar vehicle as it arrived in Jefferson. The Officer observed the vehicle and saw no traffic violations.

2:38pm: Carolyn Berry of Jefferson reported witnessing a vehicle strike a parked car in the HyVee parking lot. This vehicle then left the parking lot without reporting the accident. The Officer investigated the report and as a result, Alexis Hernandez of Jefferson was issued a citation for Failure to report an Accident on the Jefferson City Code

2:39pm: A Manager for the Westview Village Apartments reported an air conditioner unit had been stolen from an apartment on July 30 th, 2021. The officer is investigating.

2:46pm: Jefferson Telecom reported an upset customer who had been harassing staff.

It was requested the information be documented in case of further problems.

4:16pm: It was reported to the Jefferson Police Department several juveniles were having issues with each other at Head Park. The Officer spoke with the parents of all involved.

4:33pm: Debbie Dennhardt reported a possible missing person. Upon investigating, the Officer found the case was already being investigated by the Ames Police Department as this was where it originated. The Officer offered to assist the Ames Police if at any point it was needed.

6:25pm: Emily Hayes of Jefferson reported encountering three loose Great Dane breed dogs in the 300 block of West Adams Street. The Officer located the dog’s owner and spoke with them about the report.

7:27pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of 250 th Street and Highway 4. As a result of the traffic stop, Anthony Tolsdorf of Jefferson was issued a citation for “Excessive Speed”

7:48pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of North Grimmell Road and West Washington Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Nicholas Weber of Fort Dodge was issued a Citation for “Fail to Obey Stop or Yield Sign”
