 ‌The‌ ‌tax-free‌ ‌weekend‌ ‌takes‌ ‌place‌ ‌from‌ ‌12:01am‌ ‌Friday‌ ‌through‌ ‌midnight‌ ‌on‌ ‌Saturday.‌ ‌Customers‌ ‌can‌ ‌purchase‌ ‌any‌ ‌clothing‌ ‌or‌ ‌shoes‌ ‌that‌ ‌are‌ ‌priced‌ ‌under‌ ‌$100‌ ‌and‌ ‌don’t‌ ‌have‌ ‌to‌ ‌pay‌ ‌sales‌ ‌or‌ ‌local‌ ‌option‌ ‌taxes‌ ‌during‌ ‌that‌ ‌time‌ ‌frame.‌ ‌Items‌ ‌that‌ ‌are‌ ‌not‌ ‌considered‌ ‌clothing‌ ‌include‌ ‌watches,‌ ‌jewelry,‌ ‌handkerchiefs,‌ ‌sporting‌ ‌equipment,‌ ‌any‌ ‌special‌ ‌clothing‌ ‌or‌ ‌footwear‌ ‌designed‌ ‌for‌ ‌athletic‌ ‌activity‌ ‌or‌ ‌protective‌ ‌use‌ ‌and‌ ‌are‌ ‌not‌ ‌considered‌ ‌appropriate‌ ‌for‌ ‌everyday‌ ‌wear.‌ ‌

Retail‌ ‌stores‌ ‌that‌ ‌are‌ ‌open‌ ‌those‌ ‌days,‌ ‌and‌ ‌have‌ ‌qualifying‌ ‌items,‌ ‌are‌ ‌required‌ ‌to‌ ‌participate‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌sales‌ ‌tax‌ ‌holiday‌ ‌weekend.‌ ‌ ‌
