Around the country high school sports have seen a shortage of game officials.

Athletic Director of Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center Schools Cody Matthewson says this past school year they were lucky to only have one game get postponed and that way they did not have to find new umpires for the baseball/softball season.

“We did end up pretty fortunate. You know we had actually just one game get postponed so therefore we did not have to worry about rescheduling or making something up then having to find umpires that were booked for the entirety of the year.”

The game that got postponed was the first round of district play that they hosted at home against Southwest Calhoun High School.
