DCG athletics saw a remarkable amount of success during the 2020-21 calendar year, as they were able to get multiple teams and athletes to the state level as they found success in a ton of sports.

In the fall of 2020, it was one that saw the boys cross country team win the state championship for the 2nd consecutive year, and the girls 2nd at the state race. The volleyball team was able to advance to the state tournament in Cedar Rapids, and the football team was ranked number 1 throughout the majority of the season. In the winter sports, the girls basketball team finished as a state semifinalist, the boys basketball team a participant at the state tournament, and multiple wrestlers making it to Des Moines as well.

Spring athletics saw both track and field teams send participants to the state meet, the girls soccer team was a state runner-up in 2A, and the boys soccer team was a semifinalist in Des Moines.

It was a remarkable stretch for DCG athletics, as they saw a tremendous year for their programs.

The Mustangs will be hoping that 2021-22 will be as successful for the Mustangs, as they will be looking for even more success.
