The Guthrie County Hospital Clinics in Panora will now provide pregnancy care, with its  partnership with UnityPoint Health – Des Moines. 

Services include the “Share Care” model, which means women can receive prenatal care at the clinics in Panora. This model  provides the same aspects of prenatal care that a larger facility would, including ultrasounds, labwork, and education. Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Sara Van Effen will provide these services until the third trimester of a woman’s pregnancy. 

After birth, women can return to the clinics in Panora for postnatal care services.  These services include,Weight checks for your baby, birth control options, help breastfeeding and more.

 Finally, the Share Care model allows for convenience and reduces drive time to prenatal appointments outside of the community.
