For one area school district in Dallas County, a brand new school building is nearing completion.

The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Community School District is preparing for the opening of its brand new Meadow View Elementary School. Superintendent Greg Dufoe is excited for the new facility.

“It’s fantastic. It is a beautiful building and it’ll be ready for us to occupy when kids show up on August 30th. So, we are really excited, I think people are going to be so pleased with the building. It’s so beautiful. It’s going to be an amazing attendance center for us for decades to come.”

Dufoe tells Raccoon Valley Radio the need for the new elementary building was due to student growth in the district. Meadow View will hold all 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders in the district starting this fall. Dufoe says parents should expect the same ADM education at the new building.

“A school is more than it’s brick and mortar. So, what will be part of Meadow View will be what people would expect and that’s great teachers and leadership and an intense focus on students and their learning. So, that won’t change.”

The substantial completion date for the Meadow View Elementary building was July 26th and the district is planning an open house at a future date for the community to attend.
