A Fort Dodge woman was recently sentenced from a February incident that happened in Scranton.

According to court documents, 46-year-old Amy Taylor pled guilty to a serious misdemeanor for fourth degree theft and two counts of trespassing. She was sentenced to serve two days in the Greene County Jail, while also having to pay over $1,000 in fines and surcharges. 

The charges stem from an incident on February 15th. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office investigated a burglary of two homes in the 100 and 200 blocks of 185th Street. During the investigation, footprints were found in the snow on each property and then a deputy found the suspected vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Taylor and the driver, 35-year-old Todd Grimsman gave consent to search their vehicle, suspected stolen items were found. Grimsman was sentenced to three days in jail.

Taylor was originally charged with two counts of Class D Felonies for third-degree burglary.
