A change for jurors in Guthrie County will give them an alternate option to participate at a later date if they feel unsafe due to COVID-19 concerns.

Guthrie County is allowing jurors who do not feel safe inside the courtroom to move their duty to a future date. Court Attorney Brenna Bird describes what to do if you have a jury duty date but are worried about COVID-19.

“Usually if someone writes about that on the form that is returned to the clerk’s office that goes to the judge and they can be moved to a later time to report to jury duty.”

The Guthrie County Court is following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention  guidelines that if you are not vaccinated you are required to wear a mask. Bird says  that having in-person court hearings is valuable to Guthrie County.
